Drug Uses

Wellbutrin SR is intended to treat depression and acts also as antismoking medicine.

How Taken

Follow your doctor directions when taking the medicine. Read the dosage information printed at the label. The medicine should be taken orally. It is permitted to take the drug while meal as well as before or after it. Take the whole drug at once without chewing or crushing it. The medicine can show its effect after several weeks of the therapy. Contact your doctor before discontinuing your treatment. It is recommended to take the medicine at the same time and wait for 6 hours between each dose as this will minimize the chance of seizure. Do not stop your therapy in case your condition becomes better.

Missed Dose

In case you have missed to take the medicine do it at the moment you have remembered but skip it in case it is the time of your next dosage and follow your usual schedule. You shouldn’t use double dose simultaneously.

Storage

Keep the medicine at the temperature of 77 degrees F (25 degrees C). It is allowed to keep the medicine at the temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) for a short period of time. Keep the drug in a cool, dry and dark place. The drug should not be kept in the bathroom. Keep the medicine in the place beyond the reach of children and pets.

Warnings Precautions

Do not take the medicine and contact your doctor in case:

• you have allergic reactions to any component of Wellbutrin SR;
• you use any other medicine containing bupropion;
• you experience eating disorder (e.g., anorexia, bulimia) or seizures (e.g., epilepsy);
• you are suddenly stopping the use of alcohol or sedatives (e.g., benzodiazepines) after long-term use;

Note:

- Avoid operating any machinery until you are aware of your body reaction to this medicine.
- Contact your doctor before taking any decongestants (e.g., pseudoephedrine), stimulants, or diet pills along with Wellbutrin SR as such combination can cause a seizure.
- Taking the medicine can cause trouble sleeping. Discuss with your doctor possibility of changing your treatment schedule.
- Follow the program directed by your healthcare provider to stop smoking.
- Contact your doctor before using nicotine patches along with the medicine as such combination can contribute to the blood pressure growth. Monitor your blood pressure in case you use nicotine patches along wits Wellbutrin SR.
- Avoid smoking in case you combine the nicotine patches or any other nicotine product with Wellbutrin SR.
- Let your doctor know about all drugs you are taking as discontinuing smoking can affect somehow to the amount of several medicines in blood.
- Do not combine Wellbutrin SR with Wellbutrin as they have the same components or with any other drug containing bupropion. Contact your doctor in case you have any questions.
- Patients in ages should take the medicine with caution as the medicine can affect them stronger.
- Contact your doctor before taking the medicine throughout the pregnancy period. Avoid breast-feeding throughout your therapy period.

Possible Side Effects

Contact your doctor in case any of the following side effects last for a long period of time:

- constipation; dizziness; headache; indigestion; nausea; tiredness or weakness; vomiting.

Contact your doctor immediately in case you have:

- severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); behavior changes (eg, aggression); chest pain; confusion; cough; depression; fainting; hallucinations; irregular heartbeat; mood or mental changes; shortness of breath; swelling of hands or feet; vision disturbances.
