Drug Uses
Trazodone is intended to treat depression, however it is also applied when treating anxiety disorder, chronic pain and other conditions defined by your doctor.
How Taken
Take the medicine in accordance with your doctor prescriptions.

Drug Class and Mechanism
Trazodone is a tetracyclic antidepressant. It is thought to increase the activity of one of the brain chemicals (serotonin), which helps elevate mood.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed to take the drug do it at the moment you have remembered however skip it in case it is a time for your next dosage and follow you regular dosage schedule. Avoid taking two doses simultaneously.
Storage
Keep the medicine at the temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a cool, dry and dark place beyond the reach of children and pets. Avoid keeping the drug in the bathroom. It is allowed to keep the medicine at the temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) for a short period of time.
Warnings Precautions
Don’t take the medicine in case:
- you have allergic reaction to any o fits components or to nefazodone
- you are at the sodium oxybate (GHB) therapy period.

Note:
- Taking the medication may a reason of drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision that can be worsened by the intake of the alcohol or other medications. Thus take the drug with caution and avoid operating any machinery until you are aware of your body reaction.
- Children, teenagers and other young patients taking the drug may experience suicidal thoughts or actions. Thus the patients taking this drug should be watched. Contact y our doctor at once in case the patient taking the drug experiences: depressed mood; anxious, restless, or irritable behavior; panic attacks; or any unusual change in mood or behavior occur or any suicidal thoughts and actions.
- Let your doctor or dentist know about your Trazodone therapy period before being treated.
- Children below 6 years old shouldn’t use the drug, as it is not clear whether it is safe and efficient for them.
- Taking the drug may seldom cause long-lasting and painful erection even at the time you are not having sexual activity. In case it is not treated properly it can lead to impotency. Contact you doctor in case you experience it.
- Contact you doctor before taking the drug throughout the pregnancy and breast-feeding periods.
Possible Side Effects
Consult with your doctor in case you have:
- blurred vision; constipation; decreased appetite; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; general body discomfort; headache; incoordination; light-headedness; muscle aches/pains; nausea; nervousness; sleeplessness; stomach pain; stuffy nose; swelling of the skin; tiredness; tremors.
Contact your doctor at once in case you have:
- severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); blood in urine; chest pain; fainting; hallucinations; irregular heartbeat; light-headedness when rising from a lying or seated position; prolonged, inappropriate, or painful erections; seizures; shortness of breath; stroke; vomiting.
