Propecia is used to cure male hair loss.
How Taken
It is recommended to take 1 tablet per day or in accordance to you doctor directions. It is permitted to take tablets with meal as well as without it. The effect of using the medicine usually appears after 3 months of regular usage. Ceasing to take medicine can lead to further hair loss.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Propecia prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hair loss.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed to take the tablet you should take it at the moment you have remembered. In case it is the moment to take the medicine then don’t do that and wait until the next time according to your plan. You shouldn’t take double dose simultaneously.
Storage
Propecia tablets should be stored in a dark, dry place.
Warnings Precautions
Before using this drug, tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: liver disease, prostate cancer, urinary tract disease, drug allergies. The drug can be absorbed through the skin. If the film coating of the tablet has been broken or the tablet crushed, it should not be handled by a woman who is pregnant or plans to become pregnant. Any contact with finasteride by a developing male fetus could result in abnormalities of the external sex organs. Propecia should not be used in women or children. Propecia must not be used during pregnancy. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. It is not known if finasteride is excreted into breast milk. However, this drug is not indicated for use in women.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects of taking the tablets are very seldom. However, taking the medicine could lead to impotence, low sexual desire or decline of the ejaculated semen amount. In case you have got some other side effects you should contact your doctor or pharmaceutist.
More Information
