Drug Uses

Norvasc is intended when treating high blood pressure and angina as well as several other conditions not mentioned below.

How Taken

The medicine comes in the form of the tablets for oral use. The common dosage is one tablet per day. The medicine should be taken with milk or throughout meal as it can lead to stomach upset when taking alone. Consult with your doctor the possibility of using any salt substitutes that contains potassium. Follow doctor’s prescriptions concerning low-salt/low-sodium diets.

Missed Dose

In case you have missed to take the medicine do it at the moment you have remembered but skip it in case it is the time of your next dosage and follow your usual schedule. You shouldn’t use double dose simultaneously.

Storage

Keep the medicine at the temperature between 59 to 86 degrees F (15 to 30degrees C) in impermeable and lightproof package.

Warnings Precautions

Let your doctor know beforehand about any liver, heart or blood vessels problems (such as sick sinus syndrome, aortic stenosis, heart failure, low blood pressure, or coronary artery disease) before starting the treatment. In case any of these apply to you your doctor may prescribe you individual dosage schedule and additional check throughout the therapy period or will prohibit you to use this drug. It is not studied yet whether the medicine will harm human fetus or not. Contact your doctor before taking the medicine throughout pregnancy and breast-feeding periods.

Possible Side Effects

Do not continue treatment and contact your doctor at once in case you have:

• an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives
• unusually fast or slow heartbeat;
• chest pain;
• severe dizziness or fainting;
• psychosis;
• jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
• swelling of the legs or ankles.

Do not stop the therapy and contact your doctor in case you have:

• fatigue or tiredness;
• headache;
• insomnia;
• vivid or abnormal dreams;
• flushing;
• abdominal pain;
• nausea, diarrhea, or constipation; or
• increased or difficult urination.
