Drug Uses
Effexor is intended to treat symptoms of depression.
How Taken
The medicine comes in the form of capsules and is taken orally. It is recommended to take the Effexor one time per day during the meal. It is recommended to swallow the whole capsule at once or open and sprinkle the contents onto spoon of applesauce and swallow it and wash down with water at once.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed to take the medicine do it at the moment you have remembered but skip it in case it is the time of your next dosage and follow your usual schedule. You shouldn’t use double dose simultaneously.
Storage
Keep the medicine at the room temperature between (68F to 77F or 20C to 25C) in a place beyond the reach of the children.
Warnings Precautions
Let your doctor know about any medicine you use (even over the counter and herbal supplements) before taking the Effexor. Do not use Effexor in case you are taking MAOIs. The patient using antidepressants should be looked after as the condition can change, suicidal thoughts may appear especially during the first treatment or after any change of dosage. In case patient becomes agitated, irritable, hostile, impulsive, or restless the doctor should be immediately contacted. Blood pressure check is required as taking the medicine can cause increase of blood pressure. Discontinuation symptoms may take place in case of sharp decrease of the dosage or break of the therapy. Contact your doctor before ceasing the therapy or lowering your dosage. Contact your doctor before taking any antidepressant throughout pregnancy or breast-feeding periods. Take the medicine with caution when operate any machinery until you are aware of its affect on your body. Do not drink alcohol throughout therapy period.
Possible Side Effects
Do not take the medicine and contact your doctor in case you have such side effects as: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); seizures; or an irregular heartbeat or severely high blood pressure (blurred vision, headache). Do not stop the therapy but contact you doctor in case you have following side effects: nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, abdominal pain, or loss of appetite or weight; dry mouth; drowsiness or dizziness; mild tremor, anxiety, or agitation; insomnia; abnormal dreams; sexual problems such as impotence, abnormal ejaculation, difficulty reaching orgasm, or decreased libido; sweating; yawning; or increase in blood cholesterol levels (detected by blood tests). You can also experience other side effects not mentioned here. Contact your doctor in case it bothers you.

Do not take the medicine and consult your doctor at once in case you have: an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); low blood pressure (dizziness, weakness); high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision); fever or chills. However do not stop taking the medicine and contact your doctor in case you experience: sweating; blurred vision; insomnia; weakness; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation; decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; dry mouth; remor, nervousness, anxiety trouble concentrating; or changes in appetite or weight. You can also experience other side effects not mentioned here. Contact your doctor in case it bothers you.
