Differin is intended to treat acne as well as other conditions as your doctor determines it.
How Taken

Drug Class and Mechanism
Adapalene is main ingridient of Differin. Adapalene in small concentrations is a moderator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes. The exact mode of action of adapalene is unknown. Adapalene is applied topically to the skin, and its absorption into the blood through this medium is very low. Only trace amounts of adapalene have been found in the plasma of chronically treated patients.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed to apply the medication skip it and follow your regular dosage schedule.
Storage
Keep the medicine at the room temperature in a cool and dark place.
Warnings Precautions
Avoid contacting of the medicine with eyes, or getting it into nose or mouth. The condition of your skin may turn worse throughout the first 2-3 weeks of the therapy. Don't stop the therapy. Avoid using other medications on your skin without consulting with you doctor at first. However you may use cosmetics throughout the therapy period. Wash out the cosmetics and dry this area of skin before using Differin. The use of the medicine may increase sensitivity of the skin to sun. Thus avoid long being at the sun, sunlamps, tanning booths until you are aware of your body reaction to this medicine. In case you need to go out use sunscreen. Avoid applying the medication on the sunburned area of skin. For women only: contact your doctor before using the medicine throughout pregnancy or breast-feeding periods.
Possible Side Effects
Using the medicine may lead to such side effects as: redness, itching, dryness, peeling, stinging, or a feeling of warmth. Contact your doctor in case these effects will last for a long period of time or become worse. Contact your doctor at once in case you experience blistering, crusting, swelling, or excessive redness or peeling of your skin. In case you experience any other side effects not listed here contact your doctor.
