Drug Uses
Betnovate is intended to treat such symptoms as redness, itching and swelling related to such conditions as eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and seborrhea.
How Taken
Take the medicine in accordance with your doctor prescriptions.
- Commonly the drug should be applied 2 or 3 times a day or in accordance to the instruction attached. Apply some amount of the medicine sufficient to cover the affected area completely. Massage the medicine into this part of the skin. Sometimes it may be required to cover the affected area with dressing.
Drug Class and Mechanism
Betnovate is a corticosteroid that is used for the topical treatment of skin irritations.
Missed Dose
In case you have missed to apply the medicine do it at the moment you have remembered about it, however skip it in case it is the time of your next dosage and follow your common schedule. Avoid taking two doses simultaneously.
Storage
Keep the drug at the temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a dark, dry and cool place beyond the reach of children and pets.
Warnings Precautions
Don't use Betnovate in case you have:
- allergic reaction to betamethasone valerate or any other component of the mecication;
- chicken pox;
- fungal, yeast or viral lesions;
- herpes simplex;
- tuberculosis of the skin;
- vaccinia.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor in case you have:
- burning or itching of the skin;
- dark red spots on the skin;
- infection;
- lack of healing of the skin condition;
- painful, red, pus-filled blisters in hair follicles;
- severe burning and continued itching of the skin;
- thinning of the skin, with easy bruising, sunburn more likely especially on the face.
You can also experience side effects after prolonged use of the medication or use at increased dosages. Contact your doctor in case something bothers you.
Don't stop treatment but let your doctor know in case you have following side effects for a long period of time:
- burning, itching, or irritation of the skin;
- dry skin;
- increased redness or scaling of the skin.

The patients with corresponding prescriptions should use the medicine. Avoid giving it to someone else. Contact your doctor in case your condition remains the same.
