Albendazole is intended to treat tapeworm infections.
How Taken
Take the drug in accordance with your doctor's prescriptions.

- you may crush the tablet in case it is hard for you to swallow it whole

Drug Class and Mechanism
Albendazole is an anthelmintic. It works by killing sensitive parasites.
Missed Dose
In case you have forgotten to take the drug do it at the moment you have remembered about it, however skip it in case it is time for your next dose and follow your regular schedule. Avoid taking two doses simultaneously.
Storage
Keep the drug at the temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in a cool, dry and dark place beyond the reach of children and pets. Store the drug in tightly closed lightproof box. Avoid keeping the drug in the bathroom.
Warnings Precautions
Don't take the drug in case you have allergic reaction to any of its components. Contact your doctor in case you experience such condition.
Note:
- Taking the drug may cause dizziness that can be amplified by the intake of alcohol or several medications. Thus take the drug with caution and avoid operating any machinery until you are aware about your body reaction to this drug.
- Taking the drug may decrease the immune system of the body very seldom. Thus do not contact with infected people. Contact your doctor in case you experience such symptoms as fever, sore throat, rash, or chills.
- Avoid taking the medication throughout pregnancy period. You shouldn't become pregnant for at least one month after the end of therapy.
- Several lab tests may be required to monitor your condition and Possible Side Effects
throughout the therapy period.
- Don't take the medicine throughout pregnancy and breast-feeding periods. As taking the drug throughout the pregnancy may harm fetus.
Possible Side Effects
Contact your doctor in case you experiences such side effects as:
- headache; nausea; stomach pain; vomiting
Contact your doctor at once in case you experience any of the following conditions:
- severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); dark urine; decreased urination; fever, chills, or sore throat; red, swollen, peeling, or blistered skin; severe or persistent dizziness or headache; unusual bruising or bleeding; unusual tiredness or weakness; vision changes; yellowing of the eyes or skin.
More Information
Only the patients with corresponding prescriptions should use the drug. Don't give this drug to anyone else. In case you condition remains the same or get worse contact your doctor.
